Teaching Philosophy
For Beginners
Starting with the grip, alignment and posture, we will build a golf swing suited to your ability. It is very important to master these fundamentals first as they establish a sound foundation for the rest of the golf swing. They determine how good of a golfer you can become and how fast you can improve. After these are learned we get the lower body to make the proper move within the swing, discussing the proper weight distribution with the goal of getting to a solid finish. Next, we move to the upper body and work into a good balanced shoulder turn as we look to get the most distance out of your swing. Finally, we spend time with the arms putting them into the correct position as we learn he proper swing plane and path. I prefer to go one step at a time and master one fundamental before moving to the next. I work extensively with video, swing trainers and drills to incorporate the correct movements of the golf swing.

For Intermediate Players
For the seasoned golfer, I will work with what you have. We will not break you down and start the swing over but will correct the flaws within. Whether it is a wicked slice with the driver or hitting the irons fat, we will identify the problem and will make the necessary alterations to improve the result. We will use the video often and will frequently go back and forth to the SwingView computer analysis system to check on the status of the change. You will leave with drills to reinforce the changes that we make and the confidence to know that they have been corrected.
For the Advanced Player
On the occasion that the swing goes bad and you need a quick change to get it going straight again, I have experience in working with the best Division I golfers as well as PGA Professionals. We work with the SwingView System to identify the flaw and make the necessary changes quickly and efficiently. Many different swings can produce excellent results and we will recognize the features within your swing that allow you to play your best golf all the time. Any negative aspects of your swing will be quickly identified and eliminated. I have worked with some incredible ball strikers and I feel as though I understand what separates them from the rest.
Short Game
Often, the most neglected part of golf, the short game is an area that we will spend quality time on. Our focus will first, be on technique, second, be on trajectory control and third, will be on distance control with you short shots around the greens, pitching as well as sand play. We will really get to know your wedges and will not discount the rest of the clubs as creativity will dictate the possibility of using all clubs in many different situations.
Putting
On the green, we will do whatever makes the ball go into the hole the fastest, most efficient means possible. There are as many different styles of putting just as there are many different styles of golfers. Our goal is to take whatever it is that you currently do in putting and make it work by solidifying the setup and mechanics of your stroke.
